Anatomy thinking

One of the things I value most in my Yoga training is my new love of anatomy. My love of the body and how it moves is boundless. I know you’re probably yawning right now but….stay with me….
I ask you to start feeling into your own body as you move. Any tightness? How do your shoulders feel today? Your spine? How are your feet? Your hands? can you move them a different way today? Can you you stop whilst you are brushing your teeth and maybe rotate your hips? wiggle your toes? Any unfamiliar movement will ensure you not only oil the joints, keep the muscles awake but also feed your brain. I’ve been focusing on more co-ordination poses to get the brain working and to move the body in different ways. Maybe try sitting on the floor and rising up using no hands. Watch your thoughts as you do this. feel into the body as it gets you up from the floor. You can do this from standing to seated too. Again, watch what the ego-mind says to you. This is a great way to start your day. If you feel a bit self conscious try it with your feet or fingers first. Move them one at a time.
Try it and see how your body feels as it moves.
